I tried my hand at online dating before and had no luck (Plenty of Fish? Plenty off-ish.) but a dear friend of mine recommended OkCupid and I said, “What the hell, I’m lonely.” Before I knew it, I had dates up the yin yang and they all went swimmingly. Until last night.
I did something splendidly stupid last night and we’ll get to that in a moment but first I’d like to tell you about a couple of dates I’ve been on in the last week.
I met a guy named Cale and we went to a couple open mics. The first date was at a favorite spot of mine. We shared music and a nice kiss by the end of the night. The second was at an open mic that happens in some house. For convenience, from here on I’ll refer to this house as ‘Hipster Haus’. We shared a bottle of wine and had a nice evening but for some reason, he seemed to come off as a FABULOUS fella (gay).
Another lad I had the pleasure of meeting is called Dan. We hit it off immediately and have been on two dates so far and have plans again this week. We went for drinks and met up with a friend of mine who was on a group date. Handsome? Yes sir. Easy to talk to? Very much so. Let’s just wrap this paragraph up with Dan is dandy.
So, why am I bringing these particular men to light? Why does this matter? Hipster Haus?? What?
Well fine people, the first time I was at this Hipster Haus was just last week with Cale and fell in love with the music and the atmosphere. So I did a dummy and took Dan to this place last night. I did not think this through. It is not good social etiquette to take a date to the place you discovered through another guy just a week before.
While the white wine spared me most embarrassment, it’s safe to say it was a weird night and Cale blocked me on Facebook.
